We have been advised by the County Council that the level of the River Severn will remain very high until around 7pm this evening. After that, the water level is expected to fall rapidly, so no problems are anticipated on the Marina Road at Upton Bridge tomorrow morning. However, the Hanley Road is expected to remain flooded into the weekend.
It has therefore been necessary to cancel this evening's Year 13 Parents Evening, as students and staff may have difficulty with their travel arrangements due to flooding and potential road closures.
In addition, all buses may take longer in their journeys home from school this afternoon as traffic over the Upton bridge will be slow.
