Whilst we shall make every effort to be open tomorrow (Monday), the journey to and from school is likely to be extremely difficult.
The following roads are closed: Hanley Road, Upton Bridge / Marina, Worcester bridge (in town), Mythe Road, Maisemore Road. Callow End is likely to be flooded and there may be difficulties in Powick. TRAFFIC WILL BE EXTREMELY HEAVY. It is likely that at normal commuting times Worcester roads will be gridlocked.
To cross the river we have been recommended to use the M50 (Jn 2, then via Ledbury), or the 'New Bridge by the Ketch to Powick (Worcester Southern Link Road).
We ask staff to make every effort to leave home as early as possible.
Buses will run wherever possible, and take detours. Students should wait at their normal bus stops. If buses have not picked up by 30 minutes after their normal pick up times then we ask parents to make their own arrangements to bring students into school where posible.
IN ANTICIPATION OF SEVERE DISRUPTION, SCHOOL WILL START AT 9.50 WITH LESSON 2. Students arriving earlier will be supervised.
WE INTEND TO FINISH AT 3PM. THIS IS TO ENABLE STUDENTS AND STAFF TO GET HOME SAFELY. THIS TIME WILL BE REVIEWED THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
Update at 5pm Sunday 9th Feb.
