We have received the following update from the county Transport Planning and Review Officer:
1. Tomorrow the Worcester Bridge will reopen. This should alleviate some of the traffic disruption in the morning.
2. Crowngate bus station has re-opened. All public bus services in Worcester have reverted back to the bus station.
3. T
O HANLEY CASTLE HIGH SCHOOL : All
school transport services to Hanley Castle High School will attempt to
operate, however some routes will need to operate in reverse order and then
divert via the Southern Link Road in Worcester as Upton Bridge is closed.
Students at Severn Stoke will be collected by Astons Coaches instead of
the 362 bus. All students should be collected by 08:30am at the latest (otherwise
parents should make their own way if not collected by that time).
The school will be operating a shorter day, from 09:50 hrs start to
15:00 hrs finish, to allow time for
the buses to divert around the various flooded
roads.
4. 362 / 364 (Worcester - Kempsey - Upton)
: Due to the closure of Upton Bridge due to flooding, this service
will only operate between Worcester and Ryall and terminate there. The
timetable is suspended, and one bus will operate along the route throughout
the day as often as possible. The school journey to Hanley Castle High
School will operate as normal from Worcester to Norton Barracks, then divert
via the Southern Link Road - Callow End - Hanley
Swan - Welland - Upton - the school.
5. 363 (Worcester - Callow End - Upton) :
Due to flooding on Hanley Road in Upton, these services continue to
operate to their Standard Flood Timetable. This service will return to
normal route to/from Crowngate Bus Station from 13:00 hrs. From the Bull
Ring the service will use New Road, the bridge and Bridge Street in the
wrong direction, then re-join traffic on Deansway - Cathedral roundabout -
College Street - City Walls Road - Bus Station. The service will operate
with significant delays. (NEW UPDATE)
6. 41 / 42 / 43 (Upton - Malvern) : Due to
flooding on Hanley Road in Upton, these services continue to operate to their
Standard Flood Timetable.
